Supporting climate action ambitions

Published November 2025 –

Client Challenge:

A private equity-backed developer and operator of data centres wanted to integrate climate action into its strategy and governance in order to reduce carbon emissions and advance research into carbon sequestration while maintaining commercial competitiveness.

Our Approach

Using the TCFD Framework, we:

  • Delivered a comprehensive ESG materiality assessment engaging key stakeholders (investors, Board, customers, suppliers).
  • Facilitated Board-level ESG Committee workshops to formalise climate strategy and KPIs
  • Supported the design of a climate transition plan linked to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)

Impact

  • Improved insight into the environmental – and associated commercial – risks and opportunities associated with the construction and operation of data centres within different jurisdictions.
  • Strengthened decision-making informed by clear monitoring and reporting processes.
  • Achieved a B rating in the company’s first CDP Climate submission.
  • Positioned the business as having a credible sustainability approach in a high-growth industry.
